WATI - The Wearable Ambient Temperature Indicator and Your Heat Navigator in the City

wati is a smart, stylish wearable designed to help you navigate the rising urban heat. With a minimalist touchscreen interface, wati keeps you cool, hydrated, and always informed of the temperature and weather on the go.


Walking, cycling, or commuting, wati measures live outdoor temperatures, counts your steps, and guides you through the coolest route, all with the paired wati mobile app. Clip it to your clothes, or wear it with a lightweight armband for outdoor sports activities. 


wati helps you move smarter in the city, while contributing to a crowdsourcing community that enhances cool-route algorithms and informs city planners. The wati mobile app uniquely combines ground-level temperature data from users with satellite-based urban heat maps, creating a new tool for climate insights.



wati was shown to the world for the first time at the Royal College of Art RCA2025 School of Design EXPO in July 2025.


wati was designed and made by Iana Nikolova as her final Design Products project at the RCA. You can find more information about wati's design here.  



wati is currently undergoing living lab tests in London, UK and in Sofia, Bulgaria.
